Iron Man
Previs/Postvis/Visual Effects- 2008 - Paramount - Jon Favreau
PLF provided a complete visualization solution for Marvel Entertainment's Iron Man, directed by Jon Favreau. Academy Award-winning VFX Supervisor John Nelson collaborated with PLF's team for 19 months. In early pre-production, PLF artists assisted suit designer Phil Saunders with motion-test suit concepts and design implementations.
After the primary filming had completed, an expanded team of PLF artists began postvis work (camera and object tracking, temporary visual effects) on 10 sequences. Within 2 weeks, enough shots were submitted by PLF to give the filmmakers a representation of Iron Man for every shot in their edit where one was required. As shots were approved for delivery to the final vendors, PLF provided 3D scene data for both Industrial Light and Magic and The Orphanage.
PLF also completed 35 shots for the show as a vinal effects vendor and worked in conjunction with The Orphanage to create 53 shots of Iron Man's heads-up-display (HUD).
